Joanne Vargas-Velasco, DMD

At Greyling Dental in San Diego, California, Dr. Joanne Vargas-Velasco provides quality general dentistry care, including cosmetic dental services. She is a San Diego native and has been in practice for over eleven years. At her practice, Dr. Vargas-Velasco enjoys using her extensive knowledge of general dentistry to provide exceptional care to patients from all walks of life.


She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, before completing her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree through Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. After earning her dental degree, Dr. Vargas-Velasco also completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.


Following her graduation from dental school and residency, Dr. Vargas-Velasco enrolled in several rigorous postgraduate training programs, including a functional aesthetics program and a comprehensive aesthetic and restorative residency. This training allows her to provide our patients with the most up-to-date cosmetic dentistry services.

Irais Lozano, DMD

Dr. Irais Lozano received her Bachelor of Science in biology from University of California, Riverside, and then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco, in 2016. She then completed her general practice residency at Community Regional Hospital and Veterans Affairs in Fresno, California. Dr. Lozano has been practicing in the area since 2017 and regularly attends study clubs and continuing education courses to stay up to date with new tehcnologies and advances in the dental field. She is a member of the American Dental Association®, California Dental Association and San Diego Dental Society.


Dr. Lozano’s goal as a dentist is to provide quality dentistry that she feels confident will last for many years. She also aims to educate and motivate patients to improve their oral health. She wants all patients to have positive dental experiences as she cultivates long-lasting relationships with them! She also volunteers regularly with the UCSD free dental clinic, and she has taken dental mission trips providing dental work to patients in Honduras, Jamaica and Mexico. Her ability to speak both English and Spanish has helped her reach many people!


Dr. Lozano has four nieces and nephews and two more on the way! Her hobbies includes traveling, yoga and reading.
